Art and (Political) Action

What are the challenges of mixing political action and artistic practice? What are the boundaries between political art and political activism? Where do museums fit into all of this? This event will bring together Williams students and faculty members to talk about their specific works, their creative process, and the difficulties that come with making politically charged work public. Through this conversation we hope to reveal the acts of bravery that come with showing and displaying artistic work in a politically charged context. Sponsored by the Williams College Museum of Art.

WCMA Reading Room, 3:30 – 5 pm
