Mixed Feelings: A Conversation About Multiracial Identity

This year’s event aims to provide a space for people who are interested in issues of mixed-identity to come together and find community and solidarity. In doing so, we hope to discuss questions such as, What does it mean to identify as multiracial? More specifically, what does it mean to be multiracial at a place like Williams? As multiracial/mixed-identity students, what is our role in fighting for racial justice? We’ll begin with a brief introductory activity before moving into breakout rooms to share personal experiences, thoughts on what mixed-identity means within the broader context of our multicultural society, and discuss how “mixed-ness” can be inclusive of all. Finally, we’ll come back together as a large group to debrief.

Co-sponsored by the Mosaics Board.
