Do Good while Funding your education: Americorps

Wondering what it’s like to spend time after graduation doing community service, while making money to either pay off college debt or save for grad school? Learn from a panel of AmeriCorps alums including Bilal Ansari (Davis Center/OIDEI), Natalie Montoya-Barnes (Davis Center), Christine Seibert (Zilkha Center) and off-campus guests about what it’s like to serve. From office roles to physically building trails, there’s something for everyone to give back and support their community while gaining valuable career experience and educational funds.

AmeriCorps provides an educational award that can be used toward educational expenses – including debt, future school, or (in some cases) passed on to a relative for their schooling. It can also be a great bridge between high school and college (or college to grad school) to both build life skills that will equip students for academic life while also providing funding for that education.

Lunchtime Dialogue, 12:15-1:45 PM in Bascom House. A Zilkha Center and Davis Center Collaboration. Lunch will be provided.
